How it works
Before your treatment
• Advise our nurse if you are taking blood-thinning medications (such as aspirin, warfarin or clopidogrel, etc), regardless of whether you are expecting to have treatment or just a consultation
• Shave the treatment area if required 12 days before treatment
• Avoid alcohol consumption 24 hours before treatment
• Avoid chemical peels and needling 7 days before treatment
• No vaccinations for 3 days (2 weeks for dermal fillers) before treatment.
After your treatment

If this is your first treatment with us or if you have any concerns, please book and attend a review two weeks following your treatment. It is necessary to see you within this time frame in the event future treatment is required.
Following your treatment with Anti-wrinkle injections the following is advised:
• Avoid lying down, rubbing, or massaging the area for at least 4 hours after the treatment.
• Avoid consuming alcohol or performing strenuous exercise until the day after your treatment.
• Bruising is possible after any treatment with a needle. if you notice a bruise soon after your treatment, then place your finger gently but firmly on the spot for a few minutes. Do not rub or massage for 4 hours.
• After 4 hours post treatment, if the bruise is still apparent then frequent application of Hirudoid cream may help to resolve the bruising. Hirudoid cream can be purchased at most chemists.
• No vaccinations 3 days post treatment.

Your treatment will begin to work straight away, however you will see the full results in 3 weeks. Swelling and some bruising are normal. These can make the treatment area look larger than expected. The swelling and bruising will go down over the next 1-2 weeks.
Following your treatment with dermal fillers the following is advised:
• Do not expose yourself to pathogens. Avoid getting your treatment area dirty. This will decrease the change of infection. Avoid makeup, saunas, gyms, gardening, etc for 24 hours.
• Do not create pressure on the treatment area. Avoid strong massage or anything that causes pressure to the treatment area. This may include items such as goggles, helmets, face down massages, sleeping on your face etc.
• Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
• Avoid makeup on the day of treatment.
• Avoid Facials or skin treatments for one week post treatment (lips.) Avoid Facials or skin treatments for three weeks post treatment (All other areas.) This includes Beauty therapy treatments, home devices and cosmetic tattooing, for example.
• No vaccinations 2 weeks post treatment.

Limit excessive facial movements whenever possible. This is crucial. Be mindful of your facial movements during activities such as eating, chewing, talking, yawning, and smiling. Refrain from yawning and avoid excessive laughter or smiling. Additionally, avoid drinking through a straw.
Try to take some time for yourself socially during the first week after treatment. Interacting with friends and family can make it more challenging to follow these guidelines.
For the first 7-10 nights, keep your head elevated while sleeping. You can use an extra pillow or elevate the head of your bed. Sleep on your back and avoid lying on the treated areas for one week.
Wash and dry your face gently for two weeks, avoiding any rubbing or massaging.
Avoid direct sunlight and do not use tanning beds for three weeks.
Refrain from facial massages and other aesthetic treatments for three weeks.
Avoid high-impact and contact sports (such as running, boxing, or rugby) for three weeks.
If possible, avoid dental procedures for three weeks.
These guidelines will help ensure a smooth recovery process.
